We’re poised! We are really keen to be open again at Splashdown Quaywest waterpark but we can’t, we must wait a little longer. We are dangling, there at the top of the Devils Drop, but we need a little push from Boris to get us down the slides again. The announcement for the re-opening of many hospitality and leisure businesses on 23 June came but it specifically excluded water parks from re- opening. We were really taken aback as there had been no hint of a staggering of opening for attractions. We are very sorry that we cannot open from the 4th of July with all the other hospitality businesses that can this weekend. Don’t get us wrong we are so very, very pleased for everyone who is able to open their businesses and welcome their guests again but sad for our staff and many our visitors who have been asking when the water park will be open again.
The news to us so far this week is that that decision is not too far away, and we are ready, we are “Good to Go”, we complied with the requirements to get our Visit Britain Covid Secure certificate and cannot wait to have the pumps running and the water flowing. Our ice-cream and burger concession on the beach and the Beach and Snack Store are already open, so why not come down to Goodrington and enjoy the beach (in a socially distanced way, of course). Our friends at Reach Outdoors are hiring watersports equipment from the beach as usual and there is still a load of fun to be had in the rock pools and building sandcastles, and a sneaky ice-cream in the sun is definitely on the agenda.
As soon as we have a date we will be putting all the updated information regarding opening times, tickets, and all the other procedural changes that we have made to make Splashdown Quaywest a safe and secure environment for you and your families to visit. Most importantly there will be only online tickets, absolutely no walk ups, to assist with the NHS Track and Trace initiative. Please ensure that you have booked your waterpark session before arriving at the water park. You will be turned away and advised to book a ticket on your mobile device for the next available session. There may be slots available, but we are expecting demand to be high, so please book in advance, when the tickets are on sale. Help us to help you have a great visit and we look forward to seeing you on the flumes soon. In the meantime, if you are visiting the English Riviera be sure to check any pre booking requirements for attractions, eateries and for finding somewhere great to stay The English Riviera Tourism website is a great resource.
